The City of Asheville and Buncombe County offer real-time updates on available parking spots for parking decks in downtown Asheville:
City-managed parking garages are free for the first hour, with the second hour or any fraction thereof charged at $2.50, followed by $1.25 per each additional hour or fraction thereof. (Daily maximum: $12) Some garages may charge special event parking on particular days throughout the year.
County-managed parking garages charge $1 for the first half hour and $1 for the second half hour ($2 for first hour), followed by $1 per hour after that. (Daily maximum: $12)
There are more than 700 on-street metered spaces in downtown Asheville. All meters are for short-term parking (two hours or less, as marked) at a cost of $1.50 per hour. Most meters now accept credit cards directly in the meter, though a handful may still require coins. You may also pay for on-street metered parking with a credit or debit card via Passport Parking by following the instructions listed on the parking meters. The metered spaces are enforced from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday--with the exception of City holidays.
PassportParking provides the easiest way to pay for metered parking spaces using your mobile phone. Registration takes two minutes and parking happens in a matter of seconds.
