Five Day Itinerary for a Guy's Trip to Asheville

Article last updated 02/06/2026

If your group chat ever turns “We should take a guys’ trip” into actual plane tickets, Asheville is the place to bro. Big mountain views, chef-driven dining, legendary breweries, and just enough wellness keep everything in balance.

This five-day itinerary blends the best of Asheville with enough space to do what you came here to do: hang with the guys and create memories that will be remembered in memes for the rest of your lives.

5 Days
20 Experiences
1

Day 1: Brunch, Breweries and Steak

Beer
Buffet with the Boys

Start the trip on a strong note with an all-you-can-eat bacchanal in one of Asheville’s most iconic settings. The Blue Ridge at Omni Grove Park Inn and Spa is the perfect spot for a larger, hungrier crew ready to take on their first day of an epic guy's trip.

A Brewery 3-Pack

Asheville is built for brewery hopping, and this three-stop lineup lets you do it right without feeling rushed. Kick things off at Highland Brewing, the city’s original craft brewery, where a massive lawn, rotating beers, food trucks, and live music set the tone for a laid-back but lively start. From there, roll into Forestry Camp, Burial Beer Co.’s beer hall, where long communal tables, hidden hangout spots, and a covered garden make it easy to settle in, compare notes on your pours, and stay longer than planned. Close out at New Belgium Brewing along the French Broad River, where a big tap list, riverfront patio, and steady flow of food trucks make it dangerously easy to keep the good times going.

Looks Like Meat's Back on the Menu, Boys!

The Bull & Beggar is where you go when the trip shifts into “we’re doing dinner-dinner.” The signature move for a group is the Côte de Boeuf—a 30oz, bone-in ribeye dry-aged 30 days, served with marrow butter, pommes, and sauces built for slow bites and big opinions.

To round out the table, this menu is designed for sharing: think oysters as an opener, something classic and French-leaning, then let the steak be the highlight. Also, it’s not just hype—Chef Matt Dawes recently earned a James Beard Award semifinalist nod (Best Chef: Southeast), which tells you exactly the level this kitchen is playing at.

Day 2: Biscuits, Hiking and Whiskey

Black Balsam

Let's Get Down to Biscuit

Right in downtown Asheville (across from Pritchard Park), Tupelo Honey is an easy win for a group because it’s built for both comfort and momentum—classic brunch energy, solid coffee, and a cocktail list that quietly enables the rest of your day.

Hiking With Your Homies

If you want big views without turning the day into a survival exercise, this is where Asheville shines.

Craggy Gardens is one of the Blue Ridge Parkway’s most beloved high-elevation stops—quick payoff, iconic vistas, and a real “okay, we’re in the mountains” moment. Black Balsam gives you open, sweeping balds and that wide-sky feeling people drive here for. It’s one of the most scenic hikes in the area—and worth timing for clear weather.

Chris Stapleton Approved

Wildwood Still is a rooftop bar for the whiskey-curious and the whiskey-committed, with 150+ whiskeys and bourbons and an atmosphere that can swing from laid-back afternoon to “let’s stay for one more.” It sits atop the Moxy Asheville, so it’s also a great pivot point before dinner, or a great place to continue the fun with an epic meal.

Rooftop Dinner

Stay elevated with a rooftop dinner at Hemingway’s Cuba, known for its Cuban flavor —ropa vieja, a classic Cuban sandwich, and cocktails designed for sunsets. It’s the kind of place that makes dinner feel like part of the experience, not just a stop between bars.

First Round Ritual

Times Bar & Coffee is a great first stop because it’s not trying too hard—just strong coffee, espresso martinis, and craft cocktails in the historic S&W building. It sets the tone without burning out the night too early. Speaking of late nights, use this helpful guide to find out where the parties are after your first round.

Day 3: Yoga, BBQ and Golf

Asheville Municipal Golf Course

A Little Stretching Never Hurt Anybody

If you’re doing the Asheville thing for real, you do one wellness moment. Use this guide to find the perfect class for the boys. You might be surprised how much you like it!

BBQ or Tacos for the Boys' and Crew

Bear’s BBQ is a South Slope staple for a reason: it’s right in the action, it’s built for groups, and it’s the kind of lunch that resets morale. The menu features the classics—pulled pork, brisket, sandwiches, and sides—plus daily specials and happy-hour energy.

Hit the Links

The Asheville Municipal Golf Course—known locally as "Muni"—is part of Asheville’s story. The course opened in 1927 and was designed by famed architect Donald Ross—a classic public course with real history, close to town, and ideal for a low-pressure afternoon with a BYOB mentality.

Take it Easy

Easy Tiger is Asheville's newest sports bar downtown and built for watch parties and post-activity hanging, with elevated pub fare and the kind of “good hangs late into the night” vibe that makes it easy for the group to chill.

Day 4: Cold Plunge, Tacos and Adult Playground Vibes

Taqueria Munoz

Rejuvenation is Key

Start the day at Sauna House, where hot saunas and cold plunges act like a full reset for tired muscles and late nights. It’s the kind of place that turns “we’re still tired” into “okay, we’re back.”

Keep a Sunny Disposition

Head to Sunny Point Café in West Asheville for brunch that’s hearty, welcoming, and built for refueling—scratch-made classics, strong coffee, and a West Asheville neighborhood feel that makes it easy to linger.

If delicious tacos are the group's preference, check out Taqueria Munoz for authentic Mexican cuisine, ample space for large groups, and affordable prices.

Golf, Beer and Video Games: What's the Worst That Could Happen?

Head over to Ace & Eagle, a multi-level entertainment space with duckpin bowling, golf simulators, classic arcade games, and a full bar—basically an adult playground designed for groups who want to keep the momentum going.

Steak Again? Say Less

Wrap the day with dinner at Asheville Proper, a downtown steakhouse in the historic Grove Arcade, known for in-house dry-aged beef, classic cocktails, and a polished-but-welcoming atmosphere that feels right for a big group dinner.

Day 5: Fly Fishing, Cocktails and Karaoke

Cast A Line

For a true Asheville morning, go guided. Asheville Fly Fishing Company specializes in guided trips for trout and smallmouth, with access to extensive regional waters and a focus on making the experience welcoming, whether your group is brand new or already obsessed.

Lift Your Spirits

Cultivated Cocktails is a craft distillery experience that’s both creative and grounded—award-winning spirits made locally, with a tasting-forward vibe that feels like a perfect “afternoon landing” after time on the water.

Something to Chaat About

End the trip at Chai Pani, Asheville’s beloved Indian street-food restaurant and a James Beard Award–winning favorite. Expect bold flavors, shareable plates, and dishes that are just as fun to talk about as they are to eat—an energetic, memorable way to wrap up the bro trip.

Grab The Mic

Don't act like all the boys don't have a little diva in them. Here's a running list of spots with regular karaoke nights for a memorable end to your trip.
