Location #17 - Bungy’s Stars

Bungy’s Stars

The Mural:

Note: The mural for this property is viewed/accessed from South Lexington Street, directly across from Lexington Station at 155 South Lexington.

At 123 Biltmore Avenue, you will find “Bungy’s Stars," the work of artist Gabriel Shaffer. Drawing on his deep folk art roots and fond memories of his grandmother’s quilting practice, Gabriel was inspired to create a series of barn quilt paintings. Putting a fresh spin on the traditional barn quilt motif, Gabriel took his color inspirations from a Daft Punk album - the French electronic music duo. Placed in an urban environment, this barn quilt painting breathes new life into the traditionally rural public art form.
