What's New to Eat in Downtown Asheville?
Flour Moves Into a Bigger Wall Street Home
Flour finally has room to stretch its legs. After operating out of a tight kiosk at S&W Market since 2024, the beloved bakery moved this summer into a newly renovated, more spacious home at 40 Wall St., serving 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday through Monday. The expanded menu keeps the biscuits front and center but adds newcomers like pancakes and a Beans and Greens plate piled with Rancho Gordo beans, braised kale, avocado, queso fresco, and a fried egg.
Baba Nahm and Dooogh Shake Up the S&W Market Lineup
Baba Nahm brought its Mediterranean street food to a new counter-service spot at the S&W Market, dishing out hummus bowls and wraps for folks on the move, while Dooogh Smoothie Shop & Pita'ria moved into Flour's old window with smoothies, fresh juices, and Pisgah Coffee Roasters brews to fuel your next downtown wander.
Slava Opens with Ukrainian Café Fare
This Ukrainian café and bakery on Wall Street celebrated its grand opening in early August, serving up traditional breads, dumplings, and kvass from a chef who spent nearly a decade catering around Asheville before finally getting her own storefront.
Andaaz Returns with a New Cambria Hotel Address
And in a welcome return, Andaaz is back. The upscale Indian restaurant reopened this July in a corner suite on the ground floor of the Cambria Hotel at 15 Page Ave., just below Hemingway's Cuba and across from the historic Grove Arcade. The revamped menu covers lunch, dinner, and buffet service, with standouts like Chicken Tikka Masala, Beef Potli Samosas, and Nilgiri-style Grilled Grouper.
What's Cooking in the River Arts District?
Summit Coffee RAD and Joyful Noise Share One Address
Summit Coffee RAD reopened in April at 37 Paynes Way, and it's not going it alone. Once the sun sets, the same space transforms into Joyful Noise Listening Lounge and Kitchen, a moody cocktail-and-small-plates hangout dreamed up by the Hi-Wire Brewing crew alongside a chef formerly of Vivian.
Burger Billy Rolls Into Wedge at Foundation
Craving something a little more hands-on? Swing by Wedge at Foundation, where the newest resident food truck, Burger Billy, is slinging smashburgers Wednesday through Sunday. It comes courtesy of the folks behind Taco Billy, so you already know the flavor game is strong.
What's New to Eat in Biltmore Village?
Gemelli and Affogato Bring Italian Flavor to Hendersonville Road
Gemelli, the Italian-American spot from Chef Anthony Cerrato, relocated to 26 Hendersonville Road in April, bringing its comfort-food pastas and easy neighborhood vibe along with it. Tucked right inside, Affogato opened in June as the espresso-and-gelato midday treat you didn't know you needed, serving Counter Culture coffee poured over Lost Mountain Bakery gelato.
LKN Cheesecakery Opens a Sweet New Case
Sweet tooth still not satisfied? LKN Cheesecakery made its Asheville debut at 6 Boston Way with a rotating lineup of New York-style cheesecakes in flavors like Oreo, Reese's, and fresh strawberry, plus crème brûlée and cannoli on the side. A handful of gluten-free treats round out the case, including chocolate-dipped strawberries and cheesecake-stuffed chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Where Can I Eat in North Asheville Now?
The Majestic, Mountain Juicery, and Mountain Madre Round Out the Lineup
The Majestic (319 Merrimon Ave.) opened in late May as Chef Eric Scheffer's fifth Asheville restaurant, a counter-service ode to the Chinese-American spots of his New York childhood. Nearby, Mountain Juicery planted a second flag at 96 Weaverville Road, so you're never far from a fresh smoothie or juice bowl. And just up the street, Mountain Madre opened a North Asheville outpost of its downtown Mexican kitchen and agave bar, doubling down on margaritas and wood-fired flavor for the north side of town.
What's Brewing in Woodfin?
Woodfin Coffee Dept. and Earthling Coffee Pour a Fresh Start
Woodfin Coffee Dept. opened its doors on Elkwood Avenue in early April with lattes and a breakfast-and-lunch menu worth lingering over, while Earthling Coffee relocated from Candler to Patton Avenue that same week, giving regulars a new reason to swing through.
What's Cooking in West Asheville?
Ritrovo Takes Over the Former Gemelli Space
When Gemelli packed up and moved to Biltmore Village, the Cerrato family didn't let the Westgate Parkway space sit empty for long. Enter Ritrovo, a casual, counter-service pizzeria from the same restaurant group behind Gemelli, Affogato, Strada Italiano, and the Social Lounge. The name means "gathering place" in Italian, and the scratch-made pizzas, calzones, strombolis, and house-made pastas make the case for lingering. Ritrovo is in soft-opening mode now (11 a.m.-9 p.m., Thursday-Monday, with a lunch-only pizza-by-the-slice special), ahead of a grand opening weekend set for Aug. 22-23.

Thunder Burgerz West Doubles Down on Burgers
And if burgers are more your speed, Thunder Burgerz West opened its second location on Haywood Road on August 3, expanding the original's lineup of burgers, wings, and hand-dipped ice cream to a whole new stretch of the neighborhood.
Ontos Pours Greek-Inspired Natural Wine
Rounding out the neighborhood's newest additions is Ontos, a Greek-inspired natural wine and cocktail bar at 16 Allen St. Expect a small-plates menu built to share, ouzo-forward cocktails, a vermouth selection, and Greek wines from producers like Ktima Ligas. Ontos is open Wednesday through Saturday, 4-11 p.m., and Sunday, 2-9 p.m.
What's New to Eat in Swannanoa?
Daymakers Slider Bar Anchors Beacon Village
Daymakers Slider Bar opened in July at 204 Whitson Ave., led by Executive Chef Brian Crow, who spent nine years as culinary director at Chestnut and Corner Kitchen, alongside his wife Megan Crow and fellow restaurateurs Richard and Heidi King. The menu keeps things fun and unfussy with gourmet sliders, wings, salads, and sides, backed by a full wine and beer bar. It's open for lunch and dinner, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday through Monday.
