The Harrah's Cherokee Center is located in the heart of downtown Asheville. Venues include a 6,300-seat arena, 25,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space and a 2,400-seat auditorium, among other meeting spaces.
The Western North Carolina Agricultural Center spans 87 acres and includes a 65,000 sq. ft. arena, a 45,000 sq. ft. event center, a 27,750 sq. ft. expo building and an additional 5,000 sq. ft. event building.
The Sherrill Center, located on the campus of UNC-Asheville, is a 133, 500 sq. ft. facility with the state-of-the-art Kimmel Arena that seats up to 4,000 for symposiums and 3,400 for basketball games. Also on campus is the Justice Center, an additional 1,100 seat arena, and Greenwood Baseball Field, a 1,000-seat lighted field.
The John B. Lewis Soccer Complex is located on 155 acres and includes four turf soccer fields, two baseball fields, restrooms, support facilities and an extensive greenway system.
The Buncombe County Sports Park has seven soccer fields, a sand beach volleyball court, bocce ball courts, a disc golf course, concession areas, restrooms and great mountain views.
A few short blocks from downtown Asheville, this verdant park venue, the Aston Park Tennis Center, offers 12 lighted clay courts, considered some of the finest in the U.S.
Surrounded by one million acres of forest and the highest peaks in the east, Asheville is heaven on earth for outdoor aficionados. With hundreds of miles of trail in national forests, Asheville is a mecca for mountain bikers, trail runners and hikers. Scenic mountain roadways also attract both professional and amateur road cyclists and events. The French Broad River, the world's third oldest river, offers canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding within city limits.
