South Slope Block Party

Asheville’s biggest Fourth of July celebration takes over the South Slope on Saturday, July 4, with an Independence Day Block Party that includes a full day of free, family-friendly festivities between Coxe Avenue and Buxton Avenue. The Independence Day Block Party runs from 12–10 p.m., with live music at Asheville Yards, entertainment at Banks + Buxton, marketplace and food vendors, Dock Dogs on Buxton Street, a Coxe Avenue car show and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Bring your walking shoes, arrive early and plan for downtown parking and street closures.

Buncombe County Independence Day Celebration

Buncombe County Parks & Recreation will host its 250th Anniversary Independence Day Celebration and fireworks at a new location in 2026: North Buncombe Fields in Weaverville.

The celebration begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, with live music, food trucks, face painting and family-friendly fun. Fireworks are scheduled for just after dark, around 9:15 p.m.

Parking will be available at North Buncombe High School, located at 890 Clarks Chapel Road in Weaverville. The county’s annual fireworks event was previously held at Lake Julian Park, but there will be no Independence Day events at Lake Julian Park this year due to construction-related access issues.

Watch Fireworks with the Asheville Tourists

Celebrate Independence Day at the ballpark as the Asheville Tourists take on the Hub City Spartanburgers on Saturday, July 4, at HomeTrust Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., with a post-game fireworks show right after the game. You can purchase tickets here.

The Omni Grove Park Inn Independence Day Weekend

The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa will celebrate Independence Day weekend starting with an evening picnic on July 3, featuring classic summer fare, live music, family-friendly activities, and an exclusive viewing of a fireworks display over the Blue Ridge Mountains. On July 4, guests can also enjoy views of the City of Asheville fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Celebrate in Black Mountain

The Town of Black Mountain will present its free July 4 fireworks display at dusk. The show will be visible from many areas around downtown Black Mountain. Fireworks are scheduled to launch from behind the former Bi-Lo grocery store at 205 NC Highway 9, behind Starbucks and The UPS Store. Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the former Bi-Lo parking area and in public parking areas around downtown.

Fireworks viewing party: Lookout Brewing in Black Mountain will host live roots reggae music with Natti Love Joys band from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Afterwards, stay to watch fireworks from the parking lot. Mac's Burgers will be open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Main Street Fun in Weaverville

Downtown Weaverville will also celebrate July 4 with an evening celebration along Main Street. The event is scheduled for 7–10 p.m. and will include music, food trucks, kids’ activities and fireworks. Visitors should plan for Main Street crowds and bring lawn chairs or blankets for the evening.

Run the Asheville Independence Day 5K

Start the holiday with a morning run through downtown Asheville during the Asheville Independence Day 5K on Saturday, July 4. The family-friendly race begins and ends at Pack Square Park and takes participants through the streets of downtown.

The race runs from 8–9 a.m. and is open to runners and walkers, with strollers and dogs welcome at the back of the pack. The event benefits Food Connection and is capped at 500 runners. Registration is required.

Montreat Fourth of July Celebration

Montreat’s Fourth of July Celebration brings a full day of mountain-town tradition to the Montreat Conference Center community, just outside Black Mountain.

The celebration includes a morning parade on Lookout Road, afternoon activities and the Big Circle Mountain Dance. A livestream of the parade will be available starting at 10:30 a.m. Pair this daytime celebration with nearby Black Mountain’s evening fireworks display for a full July 4 outing east of Asheville.
