African American Heritage Museum

Housed within the historic Stephens-Lee Recreation Center, the African American Heritage Museum preserves the legacy of the former Stephens-Lee High School, once a center of Black education and culture in Western North Carolina. Through photographs, artifacts, and interactive displays, the museum celebrates the rich history, achievements, and resilience of Asheville's Black community.
