“We helped organize NOAA's Climate Prediction Applications Science Workshop in Asheville, NC in May of 2023. This event brought together a diverse community to share developments in research and applications of weather and climate information for societal decision-making. Our event attracted a variety of attendees including professionals, academics, and community members making weather and climate-sensitive decisions. The Collider venue was easy to access and we felt fully supported by the hosting staff at CASE Consultants International and our co-organizers at the National Centers for Environmental Information and North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies.

Asheville is an intellectual hub for many organizations working in environmental sciences and provides great opportunities for collaborations in this field. Many local organizations and businesses are active in environmental and climate resilience/sustainability efforts, which brought us great keynote speakers and off-site events. Furthermore,  Asheville is a perfect location for an event like this because of its high-quality hospitality and accommodations. The local food scene was excellent and the hotel stays were very comfortable. The landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains offers incredible views all across the city.
