Black Balsam - Art Loeb Trail

This area located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway is a favorite for stunning sunrises.

 

Upper Catawba Falls

A favorite hike in the Old Fort area, the lower falls are easily accessible by a 1.5-mile trail. Experienced hikers may enjoy the extra challenge to reach the upper falls. *Catawba Falls will be closed May 2, 2022 through Spring 2024 for major improvements*

 

Craggy Pinnacle Hiking Trail

A favorite hike for families, couples and sunset-seekers, this easy trail off the Blue Ridge Parkway comes to life with rhododendron each May and June.

 

Chimney Rock

On a clear day, visitors who climb the 499 stairs to the top of this 315-foot rock formation are rewarded with views that can exceed 75 miles.

This beautiful bald (perfect for a picnic!) sits along the Appalachian Trail and offers true 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains.
