Weekend Workshop in Storytelling

This intimate course in storytelling for all levels features longtime Swannanoa Gathering instructor Josh Goforth (Traditional Song Week) alongside Chautauqua scholar and accomplished local storyteller Becky Stone. Josh brings extensive experience in Appalachian storytelling drawn from his upbringing in nearby Madison County, NC, while Becky specializes in African-American history and narratives, audience participation stories, and songs. Students will learn how to craft stories and folktales from the seed of an idea to a well-spun yarn, with opportunities to gain experience telling them in front of other participants. Join Josh and Becky for an unforgettable weekend of learning, laughter, and lore!​
