Services I offer

Hello, I’m Kirsten

I’m a wedding photographer based in Asheville, North Carolina.

After graduating with a BFA in photography, I hiked most of the Appalachian Trail. I fell in love with the mountains and the beauty of the Southeast, so after ending my hike I decided to move to North Carolina.

I knew I had to find a way to combine my love of photography with my love of the outdoors, so I became a wedding & elopement photographer.

When I’m not running around photographing couples in love, you’ll find me cuddled up on the couch with my two adorable pups, watering my 30+ house plants, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, trying out a new brewery with my partner & our friends, taking a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, or spending time on pinterest dreaming up ideas for the cute little a-frame house in the forest I want to have some day.

I take my job as an Asheville wedding photographer seriously. I truly care about capturing every moment of your special day in an authentic and genuine way. From the sweet small moments to the exciting big moments, I’m here to document your story. I mostly service western North Carolina, but I do offer travel packages & would LOVE to photograph you & your partner anywhere in the USA.

Why Work With Me?

✓ 35mm Film & More

Not only will your wedding day be documented on digital, but also 35mm film! I love the nostalgic feel of film, which is why my editing style is inspired by it. Other offers include a fuji instant add on if you want polaroid photos delivered to you by the end of the night.

✓ Authentic Photos

Don’t worry, your wedding won’t be an all day photoshoot. I like to keep things candid, & try not to overly pose you. That way you can forget there’s even a camera there & fully enjoy your day. I won’t ever ask you to redo or fake a moment just for the photo. I’ll document the day exactly as it happens.

✓ Experience

With me, you’re hiring a wedding photographer who has a BFA in fine art photography as well as years of photography experience. Every moment of your day will be photographed with care and attention to detail. Whether it’s working with different lighting situations or adapting to changes on the fly, I’m equipped to handle anything.

✓ Stress Free

As an experienced wedding photographer, I will help with any and all details for your big day that I can. You’ll receive a 80+ page wedding planning guide that is full of information to help plan & ensure your day is setup to make for the most beautiful photos. I’ll also help with finding trustworthy vendors & work with your wedding planner to make a timeline to keep us on track on the big day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Photograph Large weddings or Just small ones?

I try to stick with photographing weddings that are about 100 or less guests. I do take on a limited number of larger weddings per year as well.

Where are you based & Do You Travel?

Whether you’re looking for a local Asheville wedding photographer, or someone willing to travel to you, I am so down! My wedding packages all include my travel. No hidden fees. No worrying about booking accommodations for me. I’ve got it covered. If your location is on my bucket list you’ll receive a discounted rate.

What if I’m awkward in front of the camera?

Almost every couple you see on this website felt exactly the same! I like to get to know my couples better so that it doesn’t feel awkward when we finally meet. I have plenty of prompts to get y’all laughing, cuddling & feeling comfortable in no time.

Will You photoshop me?

I will edit out anything that would go away within a few days (blemishes, small bruises, etc.) I do NOT manipulate bodies, change clothing colors, get rid of tummies etc. You’re beautiful the way you are.

How Much does a wedding photographer cost in Asheville NC?

That depends! If you want to hire someone with multiple years of experience, professional gear & backups, offering a personalized client experience, then you can expect to pay at least $4000 for a full day.

Are you insured?

Yes, I’m fully insured. Most wedding venues require all vendors to submit a certificate of insurance, so if yours does, let me know & I can send it their way.

Why I Became A Wedding Photographer In Asheville, NC

I moved to Asheville about 6 years ago & have absolutely fallen in love with the city and the surrounding mountains. This area has some of the best hiking, cuisine, breweries, music scene, & outdoor activities. It also has some of the best wedding venues with the most beautiful mountain views that I have seen! A few that I love are Haiku’s “Sky Mountain,” The Biltmore, The Omni Grove Park Inn, & The Parker Mill.
