ASHEVILLE REGIONAL AIRPORT

new MapThe Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) has consistently ranked as one of the fastest-growing airports in the country, and based on passenger utilization, remained the third busiest airport in North Carolina in 2023. The airport currently has 27 nonstop airport destinations available, many of which are international hubs making connectivity to the world easy to and from AVL.

AIRPORT FAST FACTS ► AVL is located just 12 miles from downtown, offers frequent nonstop flights daily to and from 27 destinations, including numerous international hubs, and is served by six airlines: Allegiant, American, Delta, JetBlue, Sun Country, and United. ► TSA Pre✓® is available at AVL.

New TerminalNEW TERMINAL, $400 MILLION EXPANSION

In August 2023, the airport broke ground on a significant infrastructure project that will result in a new airport terminal 150% larger than before. The first concourse will be open for passenger use in approximately two years. Upon completion, the project will yield a terminal that stands 150% larger than the current airport. The airport will grow from seven gates to twelve, with ample room for further expansion.

The new design concept, inspired by the natural beauty of the western North Carolina mountains, will feature a spacious and bright grand lobby, state-of-the-art ticketing and baggage claim areas, an inviting concessions plaza and thoughtfully designed gate areas to enhance passenger comfort and experience.
