A short drive from Asheville leads you to a 150-year old farm. Step back in time to a quiet era when rolling farmsteads were etched into the Western North Carolina mountains. Here, migrating birds flock in the spring, wildflowers fill the fields in the summer, and the mountain views burst with hues of orange and maroon in the fall. It is a space that showcases harmony and romance — welcoming you to create connections and fulfill your dreams in front of friends and family. Each event leaves a ripple of impact on this land and the future of conserved lands across Western North Carolina.

Conservation, Education, and Celebration: The Community Farm is a 100+ acre historic farm located 9.5-miles/20 min away from downtown Asheville, nestled into the foothills of Alexander. We have honored the land and our community by restoring 3,000 feet of a French Broad River contributory, creating a farmer incubator program, and establishing a space for environmental education.

Visualize you and your memories becoming a part of this place. Imagine the quiet and peace during the ceremony and the laughter and music at night among the fireflies… The views of the Newfound Mountains and Mount Pisgah off in the distance, backdrops to the yellowing straw and purple topped grasses in the surrounding pastures… Experience the simple joy of being on a working farm and knowing that your wedding experience is contributing to land conservation.

Weddings and events at the farm directly benefit the Southern Appalachian Highland Conservancy’s conservation and education programs.
