Built in 1840, the Smith-McDowell House was the home of one of North Carolina's first entrepreneurs, a Confederate major, and friends of the Vanderbilt's. Today the museum's rooms are showpieces reflecting different decades in the house's history.


Types of Tours: Self guided tour of the historic house and rotating exhibits.  Allow one hour for group visit.     
Group Policies: Discount available to groups of 10 or more. Parking available in the AB Tech parking lot.     
Days & Hours of Operation: Wednesday-Saturday, 10:00am - 4:00pm, Sunday, 12:00pm - 4:00pm
