This king of swimming holes, located in the mountains of Transylvania County near Asheville, is a 60 foot natural water slide. Ride down a well-worn slab of rock that has been providing summertime entertainment long before water slides became standard fare. Sliding Rock is a 60 foot natural water slide that ends in a 8 foot deep pool of water. There are 2 observation platforms, and is staffed during the season. This is a heavily used recreation area, come early. Restrooms are open daily Memorial Day - Mid August.
