Rebecca King Hawkinson is an artist native to Asheville, North Carolina. King Hawkinson oil paintings are made from handground paints and hand made panels. Hawkinson worked as a student to Fresco Master Ben Long IV from 1999-2001. Consequently, she worked as a studio assistant to Long, a fresco apprentice, and as a color assistant. In addition Hawkinson began landscape painting in 1999 on a trip to Europe. Then, in subsequent years, Hawkinson returned to Europe to create works of art. As a result, Hawkinson built a sizable collection of fine art. Many of these works of art are now housed in the private art collections in Europe and the United States. Hawkinson taught drawing and oil painting from 2005-2012 at the Fine Arts League of the Carolinas in Asheville. She employs a ready knowledge of the craft and works directly from nature. The artist builds each painting with care.
