Now in its 15th Season, NC Stage is Asheville’s only Professional Equity theatre, offering outstanding performances of classic and contemporary plays. The theatre established a reputation for stellar acting and innovative staging, whether it is presenting a world premier like Stalking the Bogeyman adapted by Markus Potter in 2013, which made its Broadway debut in September 2014 and in West End in 2016, or contemporary plays like The Book Club Play by Karen Zacarias and Don’t Dress for Dinner by Marc Camoletti, or period plays like In the Next Room, or The Vibrator Play by Sarah Ruhl and One Flea Spare by Naomi Wallace. NC Stage performs in an intimate, off-Broadway style black box theatre on Stage Lane in the heart of downtown Asheville. In between its own productions, the theatre hosts a diverse lineup of rental and Catalyst productions, which include local theater groups, performers and more. The theatre is open all year around, so check our website to see what’s going on right now.
