HomeGrown is brought to you daily by Miki Kilpatrick, with lots of help from our friends & sweet babies, Charlie & Magnolia. We've owned and operated Saffron Fine Foods, a eco-friendly catering company, for the last 3 years or so, and have built a reputation for quality, local food and really good service. While we love doing special events, we really wanted to see more of y'all on a regular basis so we started planning a restaurant. HomeGrown was born, well, not actually born, just the idea of HomeGrown was born. Then our son Charlie was born (actually born!), and our lives forever changed. The sun shined brighter, the shade felt cooler and anything was possible! Low and behold, we found the right location and everything fell into place. Next came lil' Magnolia and much more. What an awesome place Asheville is, giving up so much love! Life is grand. Now we just need y'all to come visit - a lot!
BTW - WNC and its farmers are held near and dear to our hearts. We've been around for a while. (We've travelled a bit, too… enough to want to come back!) Get this, we both grew up here (Greg in Mills River, Miki in Marshall - can you say "HomeGrown"?) and we can't imagine a better place to raise our family. We've both been in the restaurant business forever, mostly fine dining stuff, and we're really excited to be serving up real good food to real good people!
