Highland Brewing has returned to downtown Asheville (where their story began as Asheville’s first brewery over 25 years ago) to open their second taproom location at S&W. In the mezzanine-level bar, an expanded lineup of Highland’s small-batch and barrel-aged beer offerings — totaling 18 taps — are featured. The space has seating for guests to enjoy a pint with their food from the restaurant vendors and charging stations for those who wish to work. Highland also has a smaller bar on the main floor, with six taps and quick service. Beers from Highland can be enjoyed anywhere throughout the food hall — at any of the community tables or simply while wandering. Highland’s mission is to cultivate and celebrate beer, business, people, and place. They have returned to where they started, with new eyes, new beers, and a unique opportunity to be part of the next chapter for this Southern city.
