Buncombe County Parks, Greenways and Recreation Services (BCPG&R) operates four recreation parks, Karpen Soccer Field, and five river parks. Of those, Lake Julian Park, is a great option for fishing, boating, disc golf, sand volleyball and horseshoes. BCPG&R sponsors special community events throughout the year and provides high-quality programming for all ages.

Types of Tours:	Self guided paddleboating, canoeing, and fishing (fee for boat rental). Large and small picnic shelters are available for rent as well.
Group Policies:	Admission to the park is free. Rental fees required for equipment and private shelter use.
Days & Hours of Operation:	Open 7 days per week from 8am to dark. Closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.
