Late Summer Stargazing at Hickory Nut Gap Farm
- Hickory Nut Gap57 Sugar Hollow Rd, Fairview, NC 28730, USA, Fairview,
Join us as we celebrate the brilliance of the summer night sky and look ahead to the first signs of fall. Our friend, astronomer, author, and natural storyteller Stephan Martin will guide us through the splendid starscape of a warm September evening in the mountains.
As Saturn rises in the east, we’ll turn our gaze to the dazzling constellations of summer. Stephan will point out the famous Summer Triangle—a celestial landmark connecting three bright stars and their constellations—along with other seasonal treasures like the mighty Scorpion and Sagittarius the Archer.
We’ll share timeless stories woven into these constellations and catch a glimpse of the autumn stars just beginning to appear above the eastern horizon.
Before the program begins:
Check in at the will-call list (no physical tickets required) inside the Farm Store! We'll have Build-Your-Own Charcuterie boards, wine, sodas, beer, local sweets and more to snuggle down and enjoy.
What to Bring:
