
West African Dance Class with Adama Dembele

Adama Dembele is a lineage keeper of 33 generations of the Bambara People. He plays the drum and teaches his culture as it is his personal and family’s role in the larger cosmology of the planetary music of west Africa: Ivory Coast + Mali to be a bit more specific. He has lived in Asheville for many years and is on a bit of a mission to uplift the sensibility of community through the Music + Culture of Africa From Asheville to Swannanoa to Black Mountain he is supporting the Weaving of Rainbows where tradition + variations of the modern day drum circle can be more closely aligned to the heART.
This class welcomes all levels including Beginners.
