Tribute to Pink Floyd
Saturday, September 23 - 8:00 p.m.- Pink Floyd Tribute w/ Katie Cilluffo, Bill Altman, Johnnie Blackwell, more. Rock. $23 advance/$25 door
First, a quick bit of music trivia: What is the connection between legendary progressive rockers Pink Floyd and the Carolinas? Answer: Their name was derived from two Piedmont blues musicians, Pink Anderson of Laurens, South Carolina, and Floyd Council of Chapel Hill. The connection adds another link on Saturday, September 23 at 8:00 p.m. when a stellar group of local musicians will gather at the White Horse Black Mountain to pay music tribute to the British band with live music and a multimedia show.
The ambitious Pink Floyd Tribute show will include the album Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety plus selections from Wish You Were Here and The Wall. In keeping with the Pink Floyd tradition of theatrical spectacle the music will be accompanied by visual enhancements. Lending their talents to the tribute will be musicians Bill Altman, Johnnie Blackwell, David Bradley, Katie Cilluffo (vocals), David Cohen, Karen Conner, Brad Curtioff, Rebecca O’Quinn and Wes Parker.
