The Magnetic Theatre is proud to present In the Middle of Nowhere, written by local playwright Bret Murphy and directed by TMT’s Artistic Director, Katie Jones. This exciting world premiere drama is the culmination of collaboration with Magnetic’s New Play Development Program, and will be the theatre's grand reopening performance, beginning April 30th.
The story centers on Cynthia Scott, a retired art professor who escapes to the Black Mountains of North Carolina after a harrowing experience in her "previous" life. Despite her fiercely independent nature, she eventually forms a relationship with Del, a young man who has recently been released from prison. They challenge each other in unexpected ways... but the question remains, will either of them accept forgiveness? In the Middle of Nowhere stars Alesa Bryant, Ryan Dever, Brandi Andrade, and Kay Galvin, with special appearances by Darren Marshall and Christine Caldemeyer.
In the Middle of Nowhere runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 4pm, at The Magnetic Theatre, 375 Depot Street, from April 30 through May 16, 2021. Reservations are strongly recommended, seating is limited and socially distanced, and masks will be required, at all times. Tickets are $23 for general admission, with discounts available for members of The Magnetic Theatre. Find more information and purchase tickets at www.themagnetictheatre.org.
