The Hometown Show

The very next Hometown Show is on Sunday, June 4th at 6:30pm and we are thrilled to have City Council Member Kim Roney as our very special guest! Kim Roney walks, bikes, and rides public transit. You’ve probably driven by her. She currently serves on City Council in Asheville, the birthplace of her Great-Grandmother and the ancestral land of the Cherokee. A queer, abolitionist, community organizer, music educator, and community radio producer, she was a founding member of Friends of Community Radio where she served as Station Manager. On Council, Kim is committed to the shared work necessary to take better care of people and planet. She liaisons advisory boards related to Urban Forestry, Transit, Homelessness, Neighborhoods, and Human Relations. When she’s not organizing and council-ing, she enjoys music, a good story, and the process of growing, cooking, and sharing food with friends & neighbors. We’re gonna get Kim up on stage at Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co. on Merrimon and find out about where she comes from. Then, like we always do, we'll have three hysterical local improv troupes — Ginger By Association, Perfect Strangers and Between Two G’s — take their answers and turn them into improv comedy magic! Plus, some improvised musical jams by the talented Laura Boswell!
