Alarm Clock Conspiracy is an Indie Rock / Power Pop / Alt-Country band from Asheville, NC. The "conspiracy" which we speak of, is the fallacy that all humans must awake to a bellowing alarm clock each morning, only to rush off to work at a job that they truly hate. We are the spearheads of a revolution against day jobs everywhere. Wake up to right now! ACC's influences are drawn from 60's & 70's acoustic folk, and rock music, as well as more current indie rock sounds of today. ACC's focus is on high energy live performances as well as writing genuine songs that are infectious, and to the point. We are capable of playing a 5 hour performance of original music, as well as covers by such bands as, The Beatles, The Police, Pink Floyd, The Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, Neil Young, and many many more... What sets the band apart from most acts out there is our ability to play an acoustic performance, or a full bore electric rock show. We pride ourselves on our versatility to fit to whatever situation the event calls for.TheLongDistanceRelationship-SalvageStation.jpgThe Long Distance Relationship - www.reverbnation.com/thelongdistancerelationshipThe long Distance Relationship was born as a concept right after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Designed as a musical collective to record the songs of New Orleanian Dave Baker, the group pulls from former bandmates and many other talented musicians from far and wide. Dave culled together a lifetime’s worth of songs to become the self-titled, ten song debut album. Loss, death, optimism, infidelity, love, inevitability, emotional numbness: These are all themes that surface on this collection of songs. A multi-instrumentalist, Dave plays bass, keys, accordion, and guitar. A musical jack-of-all-trades and a master of none, these performances by him and others serve the song to their psychedelic-tinged, drone-ish, harmony-laden, hooked end. When fellow musicians are discussing the songs, performers such as Beck, Beach Boys, Elliott Smith, XTC, Kinks, Hollies, early Pink Floyd/Syd Barrett, Yardbirds, Jefferson Airplane and others get thrown around in casual conversation. This performance will include guest musicians Chris Carter (Alarm Clock Conspiracy), Dorsey Parker (Dorsey’s Big Benefit Band, Velvet Truckstop, Artimus Pyle Band), Bill Kopp (Orgatroid, Glampas), Ken Jones (Fifty Year Flood, Mountain Song Guitars) and Louly Peacock (Rad Lou).TheCrookedBeat-SalvageStation.jpgFritz Beer & The Crooked Beat - www.reverbnation.com/fritzbeerandthecrookedbeatSinger/Songwriter Fritz Beer heads the group with his down-to-earth, spirited songs about good-hearted people who sometimes go astray. His vocals waiver somewhere between a Joe Strummer snarl and Graham Parker's soulful whine, but it's American music and that means rock, country, soul, and blues laid out in a simple, acoustic format. Beer has several TV and Film song credits and is an ASCAP award winning songwriter. Drummer Elzy Lindsey and bass player/vocalist Dave Baker come to Asheville by way way of New Orleans courtesy of Katrina. Louisiana's loss is North Carolina’s gain. This joined-at-the-hip rhythm section draws from their punk/rock n roll roots making bands and singers sound great for years in The Big Easy and in Asheville. Sim Hickman, the newest member shredding on lead acoustic guitar, honed his craft for decades playing 5 nights a week in jam bands from Jackson to Macon county. In this all-acoustic format with frontman Beer, their skills and raw passion for music truly shines through.
