Swannanoa Valley Museum Valley History Explorer Hike: Riceville (Rattlesnake Lodge)

Adventurers will first pause at the stunning Bull Creek Valley Overlook to explore the history of the Riceville valley, established by Joseph Marion Rice in the 1780s. Passing through the Tanbark Ridge Tunnel, they'll then ascend to the intriguing ruins of Rattlesnake Lodge. Built in 1903 by Dr. Chase Ambler, this extraordinary summer retreat featured stables, tennis courts, and a pool, making it one of Western North Carolina's most unique residences. $40 for SVM Members, $45 for Non-Members.
