Batter up! Rounding Third is on its way home to the Flat Rock Playhouse. From behind the baseline, two Little League coaches lead their teams through an entire season with the audience as the team players. The coaches speak directly to the audience about character, competition, and the importance of wearing the right equipment. Throughout the season, they fiercely debate the question: should everyone get a trophy? Full of laughs (because there’s no crying in baseball), audience’s won’t care if they ever get back! “[The playwright] enjoys exploiting the odd-couple tropes. But he wants us to think seriously about what we teach kids about sports; he wants us to think about what we teach them about life.” NY Times, 2011“...[The playwright] has a deft touch for the irrelevant, amusing asides and running jokes…” NY Times, 2003.
