The River Arts District is a lively art destination along the French Broad River in Asheville North Carolina. The former warehouse district has grown to house nearly 200 studios and galleries in more than 20 historic buildings. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and open year-round, the River Arts District draws visitors from around the region, and around the world. Every Spring and Fall, the Artists of the River Arts District open their doors for a weekend “Studio Stroll.” It’s a special time to get a first-hand look at how, and why, they create. Be a part of the largest and most walkable tour of artist studios in the region. The River Arts District artists work in paint, pencil, clay, ceramic, metal, fiber, glass, wax, paper and more. Studio Stroll weekends are your opportunity to learn about art from the people who create it. Watch live demonstrations. Talk to the artists. And find your favorite piece to take home.
