Honey Magpie released their debut album last July, and will be doing a tour through the mountains in late October. On October 21st, they will be stopping in Asheville to play at the French Broad Brewing Company from 6-8PM. Honey Magpie's sound is contemporary folk with modern influences, featuring three-part harmonies with lilting violin and cello lines supported by guitar and drums. Their songs are often nature-inspired, and are written by singer-songwriters, Pippa Hoover (cello), Kati Moore (violin), and Rachael Hurwitz (guitar, piano). Their other band member is Joe Ristaino on drums. The band plays mostly original music, but also plays covers by artists such as Bob Dylan and Carole King.
