Front Porch Theatre at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts proudly presents Trails, a new American musical with book by Christy Hall, music by Jeff Thomson, and lyrics by Jordan Mann. After award-winning runs in Los Angeles (Festival of New American Musicals), New York (NY Musical Festival), and Seattle (Village Theatre), Trails will be closer to its home (the Appalachian Trail) than ever before in the fourth and final production of Front Porch Theatre's sixth season. PLOT SUMMARY: After a dozen years of silence, an unexpected meeting between childhood friends Mike and Seth leads the pair to fulfill a promise made in their youth: to hike the Appalachian Trail. As they traverse the 2,000 miles from Georgia to Maine, powerful memories surface, leading the men to confront their past, themselves, and the haunting secret of the girl that kept them apart for so long. Captivating audiences with its deeply-moving and inventive tale of love, friendship and loyalty, combined with an enchanting original score, Trails offers a profound exploration of the lengths we’ll go to keep from losing what we cherish the most. Runtime is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes with no intermission. Evening performances on Friday and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and matinees on Sundays at 2:00 pm. *All Sunday matinees will include a post-show talkback/Q&A with actors, artists involved with production, and/or director* Come blaze a trail with us August 9 - 25, 2019 at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts!
