The 4th-annual display of 250+ Nativity sets from 50+ countries around the world. A collaboration by several churches and hosted at First Baptist Church in downtown Asheville (5 Oak Street). The event includes: special guest lecture tours on both the art and the religious use of the Nativity, children's activities, special musical performances, and school and senior group times, A crèche, often called a Nativity scene, is an artistic representation of the birth of Jesus Christ. While focusing on the central figures of the mother Mary and Christ Child, crèche artists often telescope time and place to bring together a host of earthly and heavenly participants. For centuries, the crèche as an art form has spanned the globe, reflecting the unique time and culture of the artist.
