My name is Brett Montgomery Winning & I am a mid-west kid who found a love for playing music when I moved South fifteen years ago. I love performing as it provides an outlet to express the passion I feel towards music. For thirteen years I have focused on playing and studying the bass guitar in multiple different projects. While I have loved being a part of the rhythm section I have finally decided to step into the limelight and shift gears to developing my vocals and playing acoustic guitar. I grew up on hip-hop, have been playing in a rock & roll band, but have learned that when it is just me and my guitar that I gravitate towards playing, writing, and creating acoustic, singer-song-writer, heartfelt music. I like to go under the name Color Machine because it makes me feel a wide range of emotions and how special that can be. Artists that I play and am influenced by range from Nathaniel Rateliff, The Avett Brothers, Leon Bridges, and The Lumineers, to more rock & roll-like-tunes from bands like Kings Of Leon, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Black Keys. It’s just me, a guitar, and a big heart.
