Chocolate is made from cocoa, which is then dried and fermented seeds from the cacao tree. The trees are finicky and mostly grow in a humid 20-degree band to the north and south of the equator. This means nearly all cocoa beans come from a relatively small number of countries that are susceptible to the ravages of climate change. Join Jael Skeffington, co-founder and CEO of French Broad Chocolates, for a virtual conversation about the impacts of climate change on chocolate and cacao farming and the work that is being done in the industry in response. Select a Chocolate Tasting ticket to be shipped a selection of chocolate to taste and enjoy during the program (must register by July 10). One ticket covers one device.
