Chalk the Walk

On September 23rd the community is invited to make Black Mountain a bit more colorful with this year’s annual Chalk the Walk Contest

Join in the fun and enter this dynamic street painting contest or just stroll around town to view the works of art. Participants can register for different categories, and each category will have a cash prize winner. 

Due to the intense planning necessary to get everyone a space, pre-registration is required by completing an online form on the BMCA website. An entry fee of $5 will be due via cash or check by September 22nd. 

Participants will be provided with a bag of chalk and assigned a 3’x3’ square somewhere within the town limits. The chalking begins at 8:30am on the 23rd and the judging begins at 11 when the time is up for chalking. Winners will be announced on social media.
