Ashley Heath and Her Heathens
With a blend of original soul Americana music, Ashley Heath was just voted as the #1 Songwriter and #2 Folk/Acoustic artist in Asheville, NC by readers of the Mountain Xpress. With "velvety" vocals and a bluesy guitar style, Ashley has quickly moved to the top of the Asheville and western NC music scene. Raised in the foothills of Appalachia, she developed a strong passion for country, blues, and folk music and has recently released an album of original material, A Different Stream. She will be playing "NC Stars in the Round" for Shakori Hills Festival and has been accepted into the exclusive band competition at Merlefest for 2018.
?Heath released her first album, A Different Stream, in May of 2017 at The Asheville Music Hall. Since the release, A Different Stream was voted #48 on WNCW's Top 100 Releases of 2016, Heath was named "Artist Of The Year - 2016 - Regional" by The Greenville Journal, and she wrapped up her first Kickstarter Campaign in which $11,866 was raised to help fund advertising, promoting, tour support, and vinyl records for new album. The Kickstarter Campaign has allowed her to step out of the region and start touring regularly through the east coast including: Harrisburg PA, Baltimore MD, Washington DC, Richmond VA, New York City NY, Atlanta GA, Greenville TN, and more.
Now Heath has been focusing efforts on the release of her Sophomore album Where Hope Never Dies and is taking it on the road from Asheville to San Diego for her first National Tour in November 2017.
A longtime Asheville bluegrass favorite (voted one of WNC's top-3 bluegrass bands (Mountain Xpress 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), Sanctum Sully have recently reunited and reinvented themselves as a 5-piece rock/jam/country/bluegrass hybrid that drops banjo & upright bass in favor of drums & electric instruments. Having always been known as a bluegrass band that “rocks”, you can expect blues-riffs, crowd-infecting energy and deep-cut-covers that make them something notably different and indisputably fun.
Christy Lynn Band
Influenced by the stories of folk music, the deep sorrow of the blues, and the free feeling of country and Americana music, Christy Lynn Band is making a new sound they call their own. Hailing from the mountains of Western North Carolina they are debuting their new collection of songs that were written in 2017. Wild American Music writes “Christy’s voice alone is something you will never forget, but the band doesn’t stop there in their seemingly effortless attempt to be remembered. This is not your average two-piece band. Their sound is full of life and their songwriting is unique in its own right leaving no reason for the listener to walk away from this song craving anything else but to hear it again."
