The Asheville Guitar Summit is all day event. It will feature five professional guitarists instructing on various aspects of the instrument including technique, fret board knowledge, improvisation, and ways to improve as both a guitarist and a musician. There will be an effects, pedals and stomp box demonstration as well as an educational session focused on methods for gaining maximum guitar performance. Sessions taught will apply to any style of electric guitar playing including rock, jazz, blues, country, metal, fusion, pop, folk and classical. Guitarists of all levels are welcome. Registrants should bring a playable acoustic or electric guitar, flatpicks and an electronic tuner. No amps, please. Our instructors include David Brewster of Guitar Center (Stomp box demonstration), Randy Hughes (Maintaining and adjusting guitars for maximum performance), Will Ray (Screaming Telecaster), Mike Ridenour (Improvisation techniques), and Alec Fehl (Blues out of the box). David Brewster’s session will highlight special effects boxes and pedals carried by Guitar Center as well as Moog’s analog effects modules.
