Asheville Gallery of Art December 2019 Show "Big Art, Small Canvas” "Big Art, Small Canvas” at Asheville Gallery of Art Asheville Gallery of Art’s December show, "Big Art, Small Canvas,” features 23 member artists whose dynamic small works showcase the gallery’s diversity of styles and mediums. The show runs December 1-31 during gallery hours, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11-4 p.m. Sunday. The gallery, located at 82 Patton Avenue in downtown Asheville across from Pritchard Park, will host a reception for the artists on Friday, December 6, from 5-8 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited. “A small works show is a tapestry of the incredible talent of Asheville Gallery artists,” says Jane Molinelli, a member for six years. “When you walk in and see the collection for the show, you immediately see what we are as a gallery and strive to be as artists. We are as diverse as our art, from abstract to realism, from oils to acrylic, and pastels to watercolor. Yet, we all work together in a business model that inherently fosters both creativity and community.” Asheville Gallery of Art, a collective of local artists, is in its third decade as a vibrant contributor to our city’s flourishing art scene. Co-op members are selected through a jury process. In addition to pursuing their personal artistic goals, members come together to perform the many functions necessary to run a thriving art business. “We are a multi-talented, multi-tasking group of individuals on an incredible journey together. Being Asheville’s longest-established art gallery is a testament to all past and present members' hard work and dedication,” says Molinelli. The pieces for the show, as well as the work of all 31 gallery members, will be on display and for sale through the month of December.
