Have you always wanted to experiment with mixed media but didn’t know where to start? In this exciting workshop, we’ll explore multiple ways to create materials to use in your projects.
First, we’ll play with photo transfers: a great way to add images to altered books, collage, and fiber crafts. You’ll learn several simple techniques to transfer images from photocopies and magazines to paper and cloth.
?Next, we’ll explore ways to turn ordinary paper into extraordinary paper. Did you know that you can create marbled paper from old National Geographics? We’ll show you how to do it, and we’ll “age” papers and fabric using household items, such as tea and coffee.
?We'll supply some images for you, or you can bring your own. The best results will be achieved with small (no larger than 4x6), high-contrast images.
?This workshop can be taken as a stand-alone class, or it makes a great precursor to Purple Crayon's Altered Board Books workshop on May 6, 2018!
