To the untrained eye, a twig is just a castoff piece of wood. But, to a mixed media artist, a twig can be bundled with other twigs…and bark…and moss to create a beautiful, three-dimensional picture.?
Mixed media artist, Susan Goodman, has been finding and repurposing “things,” as she calls them, since she was a child. In this workshop, she’ll show you the basic steps of creating mixed media pieces of art. You’ll start by laying down a gesso foundation; then, you’ll assemble your creation; finally, you'll paint your glued items and finish your project.?
Although mixed media can take many forms, this workshop will focus on repurposing objects found in nature. Materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own “things” to include in their projects.
