No one knows for sure how tatting originated, but we do know that this technique for making lace edging, doilies, and other decorative pieces (like earrings!) has been around since at least the 1800’s—and produces beautiful results!
In this introductory workshop, Ann Lansing will show you how to make a simple pair of tatted butterfly earrings. You will begin by learning how to wind a shuttle, create a double stitch knot, and form a circle. Then, Ann will show you how to make and join picots, and, finally, attach ear wires to complete your project. If you don’t finish your earrings during the workshop, you will leave with a shuttle and ball of variegated thread so you can finish them at home!
