Art & Craft Workshop: Mixed Media Collage-Magical Forest

Many plants and animals are asleep this time of year…but not in this fun-filled workshop! Veteran artist and instructor Kim Smith will teach you how to create a magical mixed media forest where flowers bloom, birds sing, and fairies frolic even in the dead of winter!​

Specifically, you’ll learn how to use:​

• Various collage and mixed media techniques to create a magical forest

• Composition basics to create a pleasing design

• Layering to add details and depth to your art

• Painting techniques to enhance your work

You’ll walk away with a completed, detailed mixed media painting which is sure to impress. Your friends will marvel at the complexity of your work, and only you will know how easy it was to make using Kim’s simplified collaging process.

This workshop will introduce beginners to basic mixed media collaging concepts and provide intermediate creators some new techniques and best practices. Students of all levels have found success working with Kim—and they’ve had a ton of fun doing it!

No previous drawing, painting, or collaging experience necessary!
