Featuring renowned vocalist Rajyasree Ghosh (Kolkata, India) accompanied by Tripp Dudley on tabla (NYC). Join us for a special night of Classical Indian Music featuring Khayal style singing in the beautiful ambience of Haiku I Do. Sri Rajyasree will be performing and teaching in Asheville as part of her U.S. tour this Fall. Rajyasree is a prominent singer of Indian Classical (Khayal) and Semi Classical (Bhajan) music. She performs regularly throughout India and the US and is a professor of Indian Classical Music at Rhabindra Bharati University. Tripp Dudley is a disciple of the renowned tabla player Pdt. Samir Chatterjee. His deep groove and virtuosity across multiple instruments have paved the way for his many journeys around the world with many different musicians. About the space: Haiku I Do is a magical event space with a Zen garden, chapel, bar and lounge. The concert will take place in the 60 seat lofted chapel which opens up through full-length sliding glass doors to the patio where there will be additional outdoor seating. The patio will also have outdoor heaters set up if needed, additional speakers and a live video projector for a full view outside. The outdoor space is vast and is a place people can spread out, lay a blanket down and listen while laying under the stars. There will be tea and other beverages available at the bar.
