2018 Wish List Celebration
November 23– December 31, 2018
Show Opens Online & In the Gallery: November 23, 2018
Each year, in honor of the Holiday Season, American Folk Art, 64 Biltmore Avenue, downtown Asheville creates a festive event they call Wish List Celebration. In addition to representing renowned regional potters whose work is not only beautiful & functional but quite affordable, American Folk’s painters are the South’s most beloved & collected living self-taught artists.
While traveling to visit and select artworks for the gallery throughout the year, Betsey-Rose Weiss, the owner of the gallery, keeps the Holiday Season in mind…selecting paintings, pottery and sculptural forms with great narrative, reflecting the truly individual nature of the artists represented. ‘This allows our clients to give gifts and decorate their homes with original artworks in original ways. When thinking of gifting, we all have budgets to honor; I believe beauty & good design elements know no price point, so bring YOUR wish list, and let us help in selecting something wonderful. ’ says Betsey-Rose.
Many traditions of the gallery will continue…hand carved ‘critter’ ornaments from Kentuckians Lonny & Twyla Money, miniature ‘ornaments’ by Liz Sullivan and Cornbread will be available to decorate your tree. To honor this season of light, Buddy Snipe has created a couple of wonderful pieces which would be AMAZING on a mantel with a few lights added…The Wish List show commences Friday morning, November 23 at 10 am…and continues thru the end of December.
