With a degree in sustainable agriculture from North Carolina's Warren Wilson College, Todd used his college degree in a very unique way. By combining his agricultural education and philosophies with craft beer, Todd paved the way for a craft beer foundation built upon local agriculture. Founded in 2013, Todd is head of brewing operations at Fonta Flora Brewery. With a focus on local agriculture, Fonta Flora Brewery utilizes ingredients from in and around Appalachia.
Originally located in downtown Morganton and Nebo, North Carolina. With the purchase of 15 acres of an historic dairy farm, Fonta Flora Brewery now maintains an educational native fruit garden which includes 40 paw paw trees and a quarter acre annual garden where heritage bloody butcher corn and heirloom edisto 47 cantaloupes are currently growing, all of which will find it's way in beer. Fonta Flora Brewery is committed to brewing beer with a sense of place and agriculture purpose.
