Sarah lives just outside of Asheville, in Candler, NC. She and her husband reside on a 10 acre farm in Hominy Valley (at the base of Mt Pisgah). Their property has been in her family for over 100 years. Though she has a deep family heritage in this area, she grew up in South Florida, on a native plant nursery.
Sarah moved to Asheville in 2007 and attended UNCA receiving a degree in Ecology & Environmental Biology. This is when her love of farming & foraging really began. In 2014 she started Well Seasoned Table, a seasoning company that focuses on herbs and spices lovingly grown on her family farm in Candler, and sustainably wildcrafted & locally sourced ingredients from the Appalachian Mountains. Beyond the many fruits, herbs and flowers that flourish in this special place, a tradition of love for all things that grow has been passed down from one generation to the next. The family continues to celebrate this tradition through an obsession for quality, small-batch artisanal seasonings, infused sugars & sea salts, as well as herbal teas.
Over 20 immersive signature events are featured throughout the weekend! Tours, dinners, parties, foraging and more await.
This inspired, friendly and free-spirited food scene tucked in the mountains of Appalachia has been called “Foodtopia,” but the locals just call it home. Plan your trip now.
