Marta Plana is originally from Catalonia, born in a small coastal town just south of Barcelona, in the Penedes area. She has been working in the wine industry for nearly 20 years, working hand-in-hand with more than 50 wineries from all over Spain. For the past 12 years, she focused on the US market where she learned and experienced the importance of consistency, coherence and also the “road to market,” defining goals that are instrumental in the success of any wine brand that wants to offer something unique to the United States.
She moved to the US in October 2017 and teamed up with her husband Guillem Baque to establish The Winetones Inc, a wine importing company, that brings 3 standout portfolios into the US, offering a great spectrum of what Spain has to offer.
El Bandarra Vermouth and La Sueca Sangria, both brands featured at Chow Chow festival, are 2 of the latest stars in their portfolio; Fresh and modern brands from Barcelona, that give a twist to the these traditional and popular drinks from Spain.
