Vivian is named for Josiah's grandmother, a grand hostess from Atlanta who opened his eyes to graceful hospitality and the world of Julia Child. This passion for cooking grew as he worked in various restaurants across his home state of Georgia and later in Chicago. He acquired his cooking skills during these decades of hard work in great restaurants, but he is primarily self taught by pouring through cookbooks and food literature---especially from antiquated books focusing on old world European cuisine. His menu is full of nostalgia from his childhood intermixed with obscure classic cuisine, especially that of the French variety.
