Hannah Hayes is Travel + Culture Editor for Southern Living where she reports and writes stories, travel guides, and recipe-driven features that explore the American South.
Hannah graduated with honors from the Missouri School of Journalism and earned her master’s degree in arts administration at Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work and storytelling have appeared in Oxford American, Esquire.com, Everyday Food, Savannah Magazine, and on NPR’s Marketplace. Then there were those times she worked at the club where Prince starred in Purple Rain, wrangled musicians for the Savannah Music Festival, and line danced at Martha Stewart’s Christmas party.
Hannah lives in Birmingham, Alabama, but also feels right at home in The Shoals, New Orleans, and Memphis. She enjoys unplanned road trips, quoting 30Rock, talking about Duke’s mayo, making playlists, and porch sitting as a competitive sport.
