Growing up in a close-knit Italian family in Nutley, New Jersey, Chef Anthony Cerrato learned to value family, community and great food. He opened Strada (meaning Street or Main Boulevard in Italian) and Social Lounge craft cocktail lounge after relocating to Asheville nearly two decades prior. The two businesses became the realization of a life-long dream, allowing him to continue his family’s traditions by preparing and serving generations-old recipes and by welcoming every guest and staff member as though they were family. From the beginning of his career he has taken pride in catering to guests’ dietary restrictions and preferences.
A second generation restaurateur, Anthony is proud to work alongside his son, Gabriel Cerrato, Chef de Cuisine of Strada. He takes great pride in acknowledging his leadership team which includes Carly Reese and Jayson Landers who have worked with him for many years to make Strada and Social Lounge staples in the Asheville culinary and cocktail scene. Anthony served on the board of Asheville Independent Restaurant Association for 10 years, as President in 2012, the board of Asheville Downtown Association for 5 years and is currently President of Asheville Hockey League.
